A Day At Jimmy’s Farm, Suffolk
This weekend we decided to head to nearby Jimmy’s Farm for a bit of fraternising with our furry mammal kind. Being in a farm, surrounded by animals and nature, and food, is my happy place. If you are ever in Suffolk and looking for a day out with the family, I highly recommend a visit to Jimmy’s Farm.
First stop, the farm shop! Mmmm!
This looks like the perfect tree for an epic tree house to me!
I know kid, I want my own herd of goats too!
I thought it was so cool that this little girl was wearing a Superman shirt with attached cape, Supergirl knows what’s up!
Time to visit the butterfly house which was so humid it steamed up my camera lens, luckily mom had a glasses cleaning cloth, mom to the rescue!
Kid’s getting fishing lessons
Time for a walk through the woods!
A group of young guys were building dens in the forest, so wanted to give it a go!
Loved the rabbit warren and I’m sure they do too!
Look at it’s little squidgin face! It looks like a toy it’s so cute!
Paid a visit to the home wares store and just died over it, I wanted to either buy everything or live in it because it also smelled DIVINE! Loved this little dogs.
Mom adored this hen, I think I’ll get it for her as a house warming present when we move house this month.
While I liked this chicken
Loved seeing an example of a cob wood round house. When I spent a week at Lammas in Wales on the Low Impact Living Experience where Simon’s famous “hobbit house” is, I got to learn about timber framed and grass roofed houses.
A grass roof keeps the house cool and insulated and also gives back the land you take when you build a structure as well as creating a place for birds to forage. I would like for the world to green all the roofs, especially in cities.
At the farm shop we bought a couple lamb burgers, some bacon and a wedge of Cornish Wild Garlic cheese. When I lived in Cornwall I used to pick wild garlic from the hedgerows and cook with it so it’s a lovely combination with cheese.
I made a paleo inspired meal with celery and sweet potato mash, fried halloumi cheese and avocado on the grilled lamb burger patties.
We really enjoyed our trip to Jimmy’s Farm and hope to go back and eat at the restaurant there, unfortunately we were too late to sample the menu.
