Holy shizz-balls it’s already April! I know this because I put my long forgotten flip flops on my feet for the first time yesterday and my face and my home is covered in a fine layer of fur fuzz thanks to my cat boyfriend moulting in preparation for the coming summer.
Sooo, wow, 3 months of the year done. It’s been… well, it’s been a hell of an emotional roller coaster. But I’m not gonna dwell on that. I want to focus on my favourite stuff from the first quarter of 2015.
1. My hair.
Ok, so I went violet/turquoise two-tone last year, but I’ve finally found the LENGTH that best suits me. It’s just past my shoulders and if I leave it to dry naturally, only adding a smidge of wax to tame it, I have this, hopefully cool, messy do.
2. This duck feet mirror from Zara Home.
I’m so glad I got it in the sales because I was obsessed the minute I saw it.
3. Statement necklaces.
You know how some people collect snow globes? I think I’m becoming someone who collects statement necklaces…
4. The Vampire Diaries and The 100.
I binge watched all seasons of both in about 2 weeks.
5. Big Hero 6.
Batalalalalaaa! Sweetest movie, heart wrenching, totally funny and full of action and equality. LOVE.
Honourable mention: The Boxtrolls. A firm favourite, the stop motion dolls used in the movie and the level of production is mind blowing!
6. Coffee dates with my notebook.
I brainstorm, I brain dump. My notebook never leaves my side.
7. Helen Anderson‘s Youtube videos.
I don’t know if it’s the tone of her voice or just her general personality but watching her videos is like having a chat with a good friend. She is so genuine and welcoming and pretty talented with her videos too!
8. Mr Ben Brown‘s travel vlogs.
My day is not complete without watching a Ben Brown vlog. He divides his time between Cape Town in my home country and the UK or other places he gets to travel to, but it’s just his lovely, funny personality and his wonderful, positive friends and their continual outdoor adventures that I’m obsessed with. He lives my dream life.
9. Coconut milk.
I use it to make my morning oats, in my coffee, in my smoothies and of course use it in my favourite Thai curries. Because it has a sweet flavour, I prefer it to almond or oat milk.
10. Last but certainly not least – my coaching business Self Made Dame.
It has been an absolute labour of love and I absolutely love being able to facilitate breakthroughs for women stuck in what to do with their lives and finding the courage to design a life they love.
What have been your favourite things so far this year??
