As the sun sets on 2013, I want to be sure I have expressed gratitude for the best of 2013, and even the lessons the hard bits taught me.
I am grateful for the White Light Healing Intensive I was gifted by Belinda Davidson that started my year off on the 4th Jan, I was in a rough place and it is just what I needed to get my energy aligned for the coming changes 2013 brought.
I am grateful for the opportunity to get tattooed by Ian Parkin and have my heroines, Mae West and Great Garbo immortalised on me at the Brighton Tattoo Convention which has now become my favourite convention to visit.
I am so grateful that I was able to fund enrolment at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in order to become a certified Holistic Health Coach next year and develop a new business around my passion for health autonomy and nutritional therapy.
I am grateful that I went ahead and enrolled on Belinda Davidson’s School of the Modern Mystic course where I learned to meditate and balance my chakras which has helped me to overcome depression and see more of myself and my patterns and overcome negative beliefs. The changes have been subtle and sometimes uncomfortable but I needed them.
I am grateful that I got to visit my friends down in Newquay and experience swimming in the ocean in England!! Who would have thought!? It was freezing but the water was as clear as glass and on one sunny day, the beach was covered in fog which made the experience all the more exciting!
I am so so so grateful for my bicycle, she took me all over the countryside near my house, we had great adventures!
I am grateful for the continued support my mom has given me, working hard to make sure we get by while I continue to lose my shit over what a mess my life seems to be a lot of the time. She is my only family and I would be nothing without her.
I am eternally grateful for my friends who have always been there for me when things get too hard to handle, who have given me advice and helped me stay on course. Emily, Katey, Mario, Brent, I love you the most.
I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to come out to South Africa and miss out on the coldest months in the UK. I still have no real idea of what I am doing with my life but at least I’m not freezing my butt off trying to figure it out.
I am grateful for all the serendipitous moments that happened and the people I met along the way, especially the warmth and generosity I have received this year and even the lessons I have learned. The healers I went to see, the life changing books I read and the conversations I had with strangers have all played a part in a year that shaped me.
I am super grateful for my cat Marley who has kept me sane, allowed me to practically squeeze the life out of him when I am deeply lonely, and never once stopped being an eternal fountain of unconditional love and acceptance towards me.
Most of all, I am grateful for my health. Not all of us can be so blessed that they can go anywhere and do anything.
This time next year, I want to be grateful for the love, health and meaningful work I have both given and accumulated in 2014.
