My Pick of the ASOS Sale Dresses

April 10, 2015

ASOS are having a massive sale, so I trawled through all 4900+ dresses in their latest sale to present you with my picks. It took a while… I’m sure it would have helped if I had sorted out the petite, pregnant and plus size dresses but by the time I realised that, I was 5 of 25 pages deep so it was too late!

I’ve divided them into price range, under £20, under £50, under £100 so that you can search for them easier than scrolling endlessly like I did!

I still really wish there could be mid-size models to represent the majority size of women in the UK which is a size 12-14. It would make sense, yes? I absolutely have no real idea of how I will look in something until I buy something and try it on because I am nowhere near size 8 and not quite plus size as represented on fashion websites. I’ve talked about the need for mid-size people to be represented before.

What do you think about this idea? Would you like to see your size represented on fashion websites if you fall between size 8-10 and 16+?

  • I know, perfectly timed I think! 😀

Actually yes I do. Because I’m 5ft 11in, anywhere between a 22 – 24. Though I carry my weight a bit more lightly because I’m on the taller side. So often I’m doubly screwed, because a lot of things are too short. I don’t want to get into a rant, but not all more shall we say voluptuous girls want to wear body con dresses or even empire line – the latter makes me look like I’ve swallowed a rubber ring and it’s settled around my middle. I’m a young looking 46 and I just want to find clothes that a comfortable, flattering and make me feel good. Sometimes it feels like a mahoosive challenge trying to find that!

  • Definitely some great picks here! I love the dotty one in the under 50 section.

  • Same, it’s so perfect for a day out with the parents or something like that 🙂

  • I came across a website in Australia that is representing a variety of sizes with models modelling clothes from popular retailers. Here’s the link: http://www.thefashionpolice.net/2014/05/sizeable-shows-clothes-look-like-different-shapes.html

  • I feel you on the models! Most of these models wear an 8, apparently, and I’m over here as a (very rare) 8-10 feeling totally confused when I look NOTHING like the models do in the clothes. Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s a lot to do with your shape as well as your size, but I just think these models really misrepresent the clothes they are wearing.

  • Oh boy oh boy these are awesome!!! I love the navy printed shirt dress. So purrrdy! That white lace number is stunning as well. Argh. Roll on payday please!! xx

  • I keep filling up my shopping basket and then having to close everything down ASAP before I go crazy and actually buy it all haha. SO DEPRESSING.
