Southwold and Walberswick

September 8, 2013

My mom is my only family so I spend a lot of time with her, since we live together. On Saturdays we usually go on excursions somewhere that she wants to show me since she knows Suffolk better than I do. This weekend we spent a day in Southwold and walked over to Walberswick, quaint seaside villages on the Suffolk coast. I took a bunch of photos.

Wondering where my lunch is! Apparently time is slowed down on the east coast of England. (Merino wool jumper from TKMaxx, lipstick from Sleek Makeup in Cherry).

It was all we could do not to buy more nautical themed trinket for our bathroom which is overflowing with them! Aren’t these just too cure though?

The artist of these fun and brightly coloured prints is Emma Ball, I totally fell in love. Start your Christmas shopping by checking out her wonderful 2014 calendars – Emma Ball on Amazon.

And then we found these funny fish in a gallery, look at their faces!

Oh how lovely. What are those little houses on the beach? I’ve never seen anything so cute. Love your blog 🙂

Thanks Mallory, they are little beach huts that people buy to visit on a day off where they can have picnics out the front and then lock up their holiday stuff while away.

Ahh, that’s so neat. I would so want one but sadly I’ve never seen that here in Connecticut 🙁
Thank you for the quick response 🙂

I LOVE Suffolk, though sadly haven’t been since I was teenager on family holidays. I’m also a massive fan of M.R. James; quite a lot of his stories were based on places in Suffolk, if I remember correctly. Endless miles of beaches, you probably get the picture. It makes want to buy a cottage like in some of the pictures (great photos btw), buy a bike and eat local produce. If only!
