Change The Way You Ask For Things

Following on from my post about Mind Over Matter and the processes necessary to manifest what you want, Ive also discovered that the times that I pleasantly reflected on having something in a “wouldn’t it be nice/how nice it would be if I had…” kind of way, I manifested those things much quicker than the things I found myself wanting.

When you’re thinking about “I really need this!, or I really wish I had that right now!, or I want this so badly!”, you’re vibrating from a place of stress and a deeper connection to a “lack mentality”. Even though you’re thinking about what you want, you’re thinking about it in terms of you not having it and the stress its causing you to not have it.

When we think like that, we vibrate at a different level and not the kind of level that helps bring things into your life faster.

As the saying goes: “Ships come in on calm waters”.

So you know when you say “I’m waiting for my ship to come in”, well, its not going to come if you’re stressing about it not coming yet, and by stressing you’re “causing rough waters”.

You have to be calm and trust that it will come when the time is right.

I recently got gifted a brand new 27″ iMac computer, not because I was constantly thinking about how much I need one in my life but I like to think because when I saw one, I thought about how nice it would be to have one, how much easier my design, photography and blogging work would be on a big screen (I was using a Macbook laptop at the time), I imagined how nice it would look along with my other Apple products and then put it on my Amazon wishlist as a “wouldn’t it be nice if someone got it for me” sort of thing. Then I forgot all about it, only remembering how nice it would be to have one whenever I saw pictures of one.

So I like to believe that I manifested this iMac because I was thinking pleasant thoughts about it in my life, I felt good when I thought about it, I smiled, it was a nice feeling, then I forgot about it, instead of obsessing over it and changing my feel-good vibration to one of stress and worry.

So in future, when you want something in your life, change the way you ask for it from “I want that” to “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” and do a lot of feel-good imaging it in your reality, then forget about it, trusting that it will come when the time is right.

Using your brain to create your reality takes time and practice. With everything, its baby steps but go ahead an try it.

The Truth About Mind Over Matter

You know when we think of this phrase we usually always do it when we’re in some sort of pain.

But when you learn about quantum mechanics and metaphysics and how your thoughts create your reality, it starts to take on a whole meaning.

Everything you see around you started as a thought in someone’s brain, everything you have or don’t have is a result of your way of thinking.

So mind is truly over matter (material things/things that exist tangibly). If you want something imagine it in your reality with a good feeling and it will eventually materialise.

Im living proof this is truth.

When I was living in Australia, I was unhappy with where I was living.  I was sharing a very swanky apartment on the seventh floor of a brand new apartment block right in the city of Perth.  I hated the view of the city and not being close to any nature or animals.  We couldn’t open the windows or balcony door because of the traffic and people noise.  It was a lot of money to pay to be miserable.

So I began to think about the perfect place, fantasising about it, exactly what I wanted and loving the idea of what I wanted.  I wanted a car too and I had the perfect car in mind.

I started browsing Gumtree.com to see what the prices were for the kind of car I was looking for and found her.  A light blue hatchback, double the price of the money I had.  Within a month or two, the money manifested and I bought the car.

A week later, I was again looking for apartments.  What I had been fantasizing about was an apartment close to the beach where I could install internet, get a cat and put up a pole as at the time I was training in pole gymnastics.  I found the perfect apartment, a two minute walk away from the beach with an extra bedroom where I had friends stay who were visiting Australia.  I also got a kitten and my friend leant me her pole as her place was too small for it.  As far as the internet goes, I managed to charm the geeks at the service provider into giving me a contract despite not being a resident.

Everything that I wanted became reality because I would think about it with joy and intention.

I have manifested many things in my life, Macbooks and a professional camera as gifts, the perfect home for me at the time.

Of course, there are some things I haven’t manifested and this brings me to another important point about mind over matter.

If you don’t believe you can have something, its very hard to put your mind over that matter.  There are some things I really want badly, but I’ve learned that deep down I don’t quite believe I can have or deserve whatever it is I want, and even sometimes I think I may not think Id be able to handle it once I got it.

So putting your mind over matter is three fold.

1. You gotta know what you want and imagine it with joy and intention.  Enjoy day dreaming about having it, or it being a part of your life.

2. Believe that you can have it.

If you’ve read anything about The Law of Attraction, they call it “Ask, Believe, Receive”.

Now a lot of people tend to have a problem believing they can have something and this is where the third process comes in.

In order to get into a place where you can confidently believe that you deserve to receive and live whatever it is you want, you have to be mindful of your present blessings all day every day.  That means, you have to become aware of what you already have and how it makes your life good.

Now, if you feel like you have nothing to be thankful for, I can assure you that you do.  You have access to a computer to be reading this post for starters.  You have eyes and comprehension and ability.  You probably have a warm bed to sleep in, in a safe home and when you wake up you can take a hot shower and there is usually something to eat that keeps you alive.  There is at least one person in your life that cares about you being alive and thriving.

Even that basic list should be enough to change the way you think about your present existence and when you start counting your blessings, more blessings come to you!  But also, you begin to feel good and when you feel good and happy and blessed, its easier for you to understand that you CAN have the things you want and therefore its easier to believe in whatever you’re trying to manifest into your life.

It takes practice but believe me it is so worth it!

Watch Your Thoughts

By now, most of us understand that our thoughts create our reality and are working on being mindful of what thoughts we are consistently having and trying to change them into something positive.

Greatitude is a great way to keep our thoughts flowing positively and to bring in more good things because you cant be given more if you dont appreciate what you already have.

So, think about some of the negative thoughts that come up, like, “Im not good enough”, “Im so broke”, “I can never get a man”, etc, etc

Is this what you want to be thinking about everyday?

Now think about how your thoughts would sound if your life was everything you wanted, they might sound like, “I can pay for that course because I have enough money”, “I can visit that country because I can afford it”, “My partner is so loving and supportive, I am so blessed”, “I feel so good today because Ive been taking care of my health and exercising in a way that I really enjoy”.

Do you see where Im going here?  If your life WERE everything you wanted it to be, its safe to say your thoughts would be much more positive.

So, if your thoughts create your reality, doesnt it make sense to change your thoughts to those you would have if your life was everything you wanted?  Thereby in fact creating your life in your mind so it can become reality for you.

Your task this week:

1) Keep a gratitude journal every day this week, write it before you go to bed and find things to add to it throughout the day.

2) Every time you have an automatic negative thought, replace it with what you would rather like to think, repeat it until you feel good.

3) Let us know in the comments how your week turned out, notice any positive changes in your life as a result?  What did you learn?

Taking a Break from Facebook…

A while ago I saw a video of this guy standing somewhere on a busy street in an Asian city, holding up signs about the whole Facebook debacle and how you should get off Facebook.

To be honest I couldnt help wishing I could friend him in Facebook… What!? He was cute! And intelligent! And creative!

Anyway, while I really minimise the stress that Facebook can cause by…

a) Not adding people I dont want to know about my life, or who’s life I dont care about
b) Hiding updates from people who bored me to tears
c) Making all of my photos only viewable by my friends and no one else
d) Never indulging in stupid apps and games and blocking those apps that other people like to flood my feed with

(I currently have a little over 100 friends on FB, including my awesome mother, thankfully, I dont have any other family!)

…I often think about deleting my Facebook, but because I travel so much, I have friends all over the world, so I keep it.

But I check it all day as I go about my work and having given it some thought, it takes up too much of my time and puts unnecessary information into my head where I could rather be spending that brain power, uninfluenced and instead manifesting my dream life.

So this week, I am vowing to check my Facebook only once per day, at night, after Ive completed my day. I want to see what my brain can do without the added information from Facebook.
