The Stable, Newquay

September 17, 2014

The Stable on Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall is fairly new and replaces a long standing restaurant that overlooks beautiful Fistral beach.

Outside decking that surrounds the restaurant is the perfect place to spend an evening enjoying the sunset while trying up to 80 different ciders and a range of delicious pizzas.

While there are a number of tipples to choose from, it’s the extensive cider selection that you should really get stuck into. Select the one’s that take your fancy and you’ll be given a numbered tasting tray and card so you can discover new cider’s and flavours.

We liked the Cornish Orchard and Stable Pear, a couple of the others were just a big no but it was such fun discovering how different cider can taste! Some sharp, some smooth, some more like potpourri!

We had the salmon pizza and the lamb with sweet potato and goats cheese. Both were absolutely delicious and we really loved the crispy bases.

Each pizza came on a large wooden pizza tray with it’s own pizza cutter and we were able to take home what we couldn’t finish.

If you’re lucky enough to get a table outside at sunset, then you will enjoy the stunning views over Fistral Beach which is a perfect way to end a day on the beach.
