My Word For 2013

January 3, 2013

A couple of people have mentioned choosing a word that will act as a guiding light for the year ahead. Something we can aim towards or use as a reminder for our ultimate goal for the year.

Im currently reading SASSY by Lisa Clark and she talks about how self esteem is based on wether or not we trust ourselves, a concept I hadn’t heard or considered before but makes so much sense. I asked myself, “when do I not trust myself?” and every time it lead to bad or no decisions.

My word for the year is TRUST. Which is really, believing in myself to be capable, good enough and deserving.

I’m even thinking about turning my word into a decorative installation in my home so I can look at it every day and be reminded to just breath.

What would your word for the year ahead be?

Persistance. That is what will keep me on track to attain my goals – work, fitness, life, etc.

the installation idea sounds wonderful! i think my word for this year would have to be ‘pro-active’ to serve as a reminder that achievements are never just handed out on silver platters and that i need to get off my lazy arse and do something positive!

Good luck with your amazing word.
I’m working on a collage/vision board to incorporate my three words for the year – move, connect, release. (I couldn’t stop myself at one!)

I love this idea of choosing one word for the year. Trust is a great one, but I like to see it not just as trust in myself, but also as trust in life that everything will turn out ok even if it doesn’t always seem that way (and I guess that goes with trust in myself, that I will always manage to make it work out).
    Great idea 🙂
