London Fashion Week 2012: Street Style

I had so much fun shooting all these fabulous people!  I have always wanted to shoot street style, even before it was a “thing”, people fascinate me and I like how it documents who we were at that space in time.

Here are 50 photographs from the day I shot at London Fashion Week at Somerset House.

Can I have her coat please?

LOVE her red glitter shoes!

Full latex drag!

Love that unzipped leather sleeve peeking out.

Sandra of 5inchandup.

She reminded me of Audrey Hepburn.

Nope, not Lady Gaga, its a dude!

Floral trousers are in style right now.

Retro rockabilly without being obvious about it. Love.

She reminded me of Bjork.

Gorgeous red heads are go!

This guy’s coat was just wow, such a gorgeous blood red colour and his silhouette made it a great shot.

Dont know who this lady was but she was giving off some major BAMF vibes.

Amazing jacket, hot legs, put my head on her!

Love the feather bag.

I took about 4 or 5 shots of this girl as she walked towards and past me, loved her style and her DGAF attitude.  This is my fave shot.  Check out that iPhone cover.

No idea who these girls are but the paparazzi went nuts for them.  They were cool tho, laughing the whole time.

These two and their friend were so stylish and good looking and made such a pretty picture against the background of the beautiful Somerset House.  Love her trousers.

I dont know who these ladies are either, photogs went crazy for them too but I am IN LOVE with that pale blue military style dress, really wish any of the shots I took of them were in focus.

Is this M.I.A?  And can I please have her awesome bag!?

These three could be in a fashion editorial shoot.

The girl in the glasses looks exactly like me when I was a teenager, except with better style.

Loved this girl’s style and I keep seeing awesome wedge high tops everywhere right now! I want this pair!

How cute is she!? Smiling while you have a camera in someone’s face always makes them feel better about having their picture taken and look at the result :)

Wish the mint green of her trousers showed up some more in this picture because it balanced the bright orange of her headscarf perfectly.  Im still learning how to take photos on manual settings, so bare with me!

These two were an odd looking pair.  The mask was cat like.  I wonder what country they are from.

Top nots are still in style.

I recognise this guy from somewhere, like a fashion editorial or something.  Highly likely that he is a model.

So annoyed the photos of this lady were not in focus, it was late in the day and heading into evening and my settings were all wrong to let enough exposure in, in time to shoot in focus and she was walking very fast across the street from me.  Want her shoes.

Adore this girl’s outfit, very St Trinian’s badass school girl style.

Do you have a favourite outfit?  Inspired by anything you see?

London Fashion Week Street Style: Accessories

I think I may have been too busy looking at people’s shoes are quirky get ups that I didnt shoot many accessory shots, but here are the ones I did.

Gloves worn by the lovely Sandra of 5inchandup.

I like the layering here.

If anyone knows who this bag is by, let me know!

Neon accents abounded at London Fashion Week.

What do you never leave home without?

London Fashion Week Street Style: Shoes

Since this was my first time ever shooting street style, I found my camera pointed mostly at people’s shoes!  In a couple hours, I shot 32 images of interesting and stylish shoes at London Fashion Week.  People walk so fast in London sometimes it’s hard to get a perfectly clear image as the camera lens doesn’t have time to focus, I lost a few shots of some seriously gorgeous shoes because of this unfortunately.

These are my own shoes, sent to me by a fan from my Amazon wishlist.  They’re by Aldo.

Wedges seem to be very in right now.

SO sexy don’t you think?

The next installment of London Fashion Week Street Style will be coming soon!

Which are your favourite pair?

London Fashion Week Day 1: Highlights

Today I decided to take my camera down to Somerset House and see what I could shoot.  I ended up shooting over 300 photos…

While Ive edited them down somewhat, there are still a whole load Id love to share with you but because its 3am and will take me a while to upload them all into a post on here, Im leaving you with my highlights of the day in the meantime…

This is my favourite photo of the day.  This woman’s curly flame red hair went so beautifully with her deep teal coat and the lighting just made it all pop.

This is my first ever time taking street style photos, Im still figuring out which way the exposure needs to go when the light changes and need to switch over to shooting in RAW for cleaner images too.

I loved the freedom to shoot people up close without them thinking it was strange.  Fashionistas expect photographers to love their style and I sure did my best to capture as much cool and quirky style as I could in the 3 hours I was there.

These beautiful gloves are being worn by the lovely Sandra of 5inchandup who is one of my favourite fashion bloggs.  She was kind enough to chat to me and let me take a couple shots of her gorgeous gloves even though I was a total stranger.  She is just as stunning in person as she is in her photos, even more so actually as she is so sweet and not at all stuck up.

I literally ran after this girl when I spotted her.  No one else seemed interested in her and I was on the other side of the entrance so I am so glad that I got to snap this shot.

I found that I was shooting a lot of people no one else seems to want to shoot.  Everyone was waiting for the fashion famous, none of which I recognised.

This lady’s style really grabbed me, it’s edgy and feminine and I love her hair!

So, that’s all you’re getting for the moment, I will be sleeping most of the day and then working on a more in-depth post from Day 1 of London Fashion Week before heading out to dance the night away with my friends.
